The 3 days trip from Marrakech to Fes via desert links the two imperial cities of Marrakech and Fes with the possibility to explore the southern part of Morocco and its vast desert. Visit the Kasbahs, experience the Camel Trekking in the desert, enjoy the panoramic views, varied landscapes of both High and Middle Atlas Mountains…etc.
Day1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Valley of Roses – Dades Valley
Early pick up from your hotel or Riad and head to Dades Valley by a nice drive through the High Atlas Mountains over the Pass of Tizi n’Tichka (2260m). We will visit the Ait Benhaddou Village, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The village has been a backdrop for filming several Hollywood Films like Gladiator, Prince of Persia, the Sheltering Sky…etc. We will drive through Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses before arriving to Dades Valley where we will spend the night.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi
In the morning, we will visit the spectacular Gorge of Todra with its high cliffs that have attracted mountain climbers from all over the world. It’s a nice place for stretching ones’ legs and enjoying some fresh air. Traverse the Tafilalet Oasis before arriving to the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi where you will experience the camel trekking for a nice journey to the Berber camp that is located in the heart of the desert. Dinner will be served at the camp.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes
Early wake up in the morning to attend the miraculous view of the sunrise over the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi and after breakfast you will gat back by camel to the Hotel that is located at the feet of the sand dunes. After a nice shower, we will head north through the lush Ziz Valley, the Ziz Gorge, Midelt and the preserved UNESCO cedar forest that hosts a colony of unique Barbary Apes. We will stop at the Switzerland Moroccan version city with its clean streets, then we will continue to the spiritual capital of Morocco, Ifrane; which we will reach in the evening..
